Worshipping Obama

According to the latest news, children in some areas of the country are being asked to pledge help and support of Obama. The founding fathers of this country thought it was the other way around: political leaders are elected to support the collective needs of the people. Brings to mind WWII movies of the German people saluting Hitler. Do you think mentioning this connection is extreme? Well, would you have expected the Administration to have made this effort to enlist the devotion of children during the election?
